How we make recommendations
Match Score is an editorial assessment of project and feature fit. It is not a hands-on benchmark, user rating, success probability or objective quality ranking.
The calculation
Each project has base weights from 1 to 4. Each selected priority adds a weight of 4. We divide each 0–5 criterion score by 5, multiply by its weight, sum the results, divide by total weight and multiply by 100.
Score = 100 × Σ(weight × score / 5) / Σ(weight)
The 0–5 rubric
- 0: the capability does not support this task.
- 1–2: limited fit or substantial extra steps.
- 3: a functional fit for a typical workflow.
- 4: dedicated features or a connected workflow for the task.
- 5: the criterion is central to the product’s creative workflow; not a guarantee of superiority or flawless output.
Quality and speed have no comparable hands-on measurements and are excluded from scores and weights. Realism, consistency and ease are editorial judgments from documented features, not proven output superiority. Value combines pricing and capabilities rather than ranking by price alone.
How do we handle unknowns?
Rankings require reviewed pricing, free access and commercial conditions. Other tools appear separately as under review. Unknown feature values earn no points while retaining their weights. Purchasing facts 3/3 means three fields have official sources, not 100% accuracy or guaranteed permission.
The commercial-terms option filters to tools with reviewed license information. It does not guarantee permission: asset rights and plan-specific conditions still matter. Services scheduled for shutdown are excluded from new recommendations.
Affiliate and advertising independence
Affiliate status and commission do not enter the ranking formula. Only approved affiliate links are configured; links currently lead to official sites. Advertising and sponsorship disclosures are kept separate from matching results.
